Helping Out Your Family Pet in Sullivan

Helping Out Your Family Pet in Sullivan

Hi everyone!

I am a huge lover of all animals. I have taken in 3 stray cats in the past 5 years. I can't help it, I fall in love with these helpless little animals and have a need to make sure they are safe, warm, and loved. And trust me, these 3 cats have more food and love than they could have ever imagined. So, today I want to share with everyone a few places and information where you can help local pets in Sullivan. I was so happy to learn of the many different ways that the town of Sullivan has been raising money for the pets who need help in the town. One of those ways is the local thrift store that is located in the basement of the Sullivan/Sorrento recreation center. I have shopped in there myself a few times. They have a great selection of books, just so you know!

“I’d like the Dine Around Special, Please!”

The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with thirty local eateries to bring you the 2nd Annual Dine Around for the entire month of March.
“It is our local spin on the food week concepts that originated in New York City in the early nineties. The concept caught on in Maine in 2009. Restaurant weeks are a great way to showcase a large sector of our membership. In the Ellsworth Area we have so many great options, a week is not enough!” – Phyllis Young, Assistant Director, Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce.
March can be a long month here in Downeast Maine our area restaurants are rolling out the red carpet with “Dine Around” specials. The offers are diverse and include a baker’s dozen of fresh rolls to take home, daily specials, new menu options specially created for ‘Dine Around’, ‘buy one get one’ specials and prix fixe dinners sure to please.

Finding our Local Food Pantries

Good day everyone,

today I want to talk about how to find our local food banks and how to contact them. I know from my own personal experiences that it doesn't matter who you are, or how many possessions you have, hard times can fall on anyone. There might be a time in your life when you just need a little helping hand, or when it could mean the difference of not having any food on the table for your family at all. There is nothing wrong with asking for help at any time. I feel that this is such an important topic and everyone should have access to this information no matter if you use it or not. Here in Gouldsboro we have access to a few food banks in the area. One of those is the following

-Life Line Food Pantry in South Gouldsboro. Their hours are hours are every 3rd Saturday of the month from 9-10 a.m. You need to sign up for this bank ahead of time. Their contact information is 963-2321

Also, this area has a few other food pantries you can contact.

The hidden hazards of regifting.

The hidden hazards of regifting.

So a few days ago, I wrote a little post about gift cards, and I showed off my secret stash of paper and plastic tickets to paradise.  Well, shortly after I put up the post, I was inspired to take stock of my collection and realized that this Christmas, I had received a $50 gift certificate to go see a show at a local theater.
