Paintball Attack?

BAR HARBOR, Maine -- A hotel guest in Bar Harbor, Maine, thought his car was the target of a paintball vandal, but police say it was actually the target of birds that fouled the car with their droppings.

Police were called to the Bar Harbor Regency -- the same hotel where President Barack Obama stayed last summer - on July 6 by an employee who said a guest had reported the car was an apparent victim of vandalism, with large splotches that appeared to come from paintballs fired from a paintball gun.

Bar Harbor police dispatcher Sharon Worcester said when an officer responded, he discovered the splotches were actually a "large amount of bird poo."

During the summer, Maine's large gull population has been known to soil buildings and vehicles with their smelly droppings.

Seeking Much Needed Road Work in Birch Harbor & Prospect Harbor

Seeking Much Needed Road Work in Birch Harbor & Prospect Harbor

Hi everyone,

Today's topic is Route 186 from Birch Harbor to Prospect Harbor and the poor road conditions. One of the worst parts of the road is the section from the Prospect Point Road to the Winter Harbor town line. This road is horrible! The only way you can drive over it and not break a rod or bottom out your car is to have a speed of 15MPH or less! The road has giant pot holes and the entire road has bowed in the middle causing any vehicle that is low to the ground to scrape the underneath. On the sides of the road it is torn up so bad it is almost impossible to pull of the road in this area.
