We're nearing the end of the 30th Annual National Banned Books Week .

Want to read a Banned Book?  Let me give you some ideas:

Camden Conference: US Difficulties and the Prospect of Revival – Will China Rule?

Is this the end of America’s heroic age?  Will China’s communist technocrats dominate the world?

Join Prof. Seth Singleton on Tuesday, January 24th at the Camden Public Library with a discussion on “U.S. Weakness in a 21st Century World: Will Asia and China rule?  The event runs from 6:30-8PM and is free and open to all.

This talk will outline some of our present difficulties - the budget deficit and national debt; declining incomes, unemployment, and inequality; mediocre education; corrupt politics; denial of the common good or the public interest - and will suggest remedies, some of them radical.  Then we will consider how American foreign policy must change during a period of national revival, or what will happen if no revival occurs.  In a country which increasingly divides populists and plutocrats, what are the chances that effective action will be taken?   Open for discussion.
