St. Saviour’s Episcopal Parish Summer Organ Series

St. Saviour’s Episcopal Parish in Bar Harbor is pleased to announce its annual Summer Organ Series.  For three consecutive Fridays, beginning August 10, the church’s exceptional Visser-Rowland tracker organ will be featured in concert from 12:15-1:00 pm.  The line-up of notable artists is:

August 10: Ray Cornils, Portland Municipal Organist and Director of Music, First Parish  Church, Brunswick.  Mr. Cornils will be performing works by David German, John Knowles Paine, Noel Rawsthorne and others.

August 17:  Kevin Birch, Director of Music, St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor.

August 24:  Julia Morris-Myers, Organist and Choirmaster, St. Saviour’s.

Proceeds from the 2012 concerts will go to St. Saviour’s Friends of Music, a support group which provides funds for the upkeep of the organ and for special musical offerings at the church. The recitals will be followed by refreshments and tours of the historic building.  Admission is by donation.
